Rec Plus provides school-age childcare for children in grades K-6, at neighborhood recreation centers. Children must have completed Kindergarten for summer. Children must be 12 and under.
Rec Plus provides school-age childcare for children in grades K-6. Rec Plus operates before school, after school, school release days, and summer. Children are required to be at least 5 years old, no older than 12 years old and have completed kindergarten to enroll in summer Rec Plus.
REC PLUS REGISTRATION for available locations are listed below. If a site or waitlist is at capacity it will not be listed.
All contracts will remain in pending status (waitlist) until contracts are accepted, no registration is guaranteed due to the volume received.
Please do not make two different parent accounts for siblings for the site location. They will not link together if not on same parent account. Siblings that are registered within 30 minutes of each other at same location on same account will get sibling preference if space allows.
Rec Plus new client registration dates follow a priority registration period for currently enrolled school year families. Due to this, some sites may go right to a waitlist when registration opens to new clients.

Summer 2026 registration for new clients opens on Wednesday, February 11 at 12 pm (noon).

School year 2026-2027 registration opens for new clients on Wednesday, April 15 at 12 pm (noon).
Two day per week minimum requirement.

School Year MPS bus zone variances available are: Cityview School to Webber Rec Plus, Hiawatha/Howe Schools to 40th Street Rec Plus, Loring School to Webber Rec Plus, Pillsbury to Audubon Rec Plus. Please check with MPS transportation to confirm this.
Rec Plus is able to enroll children from citywide MPS Magnet Schools (and private/charter schools) with a school end time between 2:00-3:10pm at the following afternoon Rec Plus sites: Audubon, Armatage, Harrison, Lynnhurst, Matthews, 40th Street, Webber and Windom NE.
The following are suggested pairings for MPS Magnet Schools with early dismissal times:
School Release Days (SRD) are available only for currently enrolled school year participants.
*Rec Plus is closed for school year holidays on Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year Day, MLK Day, Presidents Day and Memorial Day. SRD care is not offered on these holidays.
There is a contract fee of $30 per season per child; (school year and summer). This fee is non-refundable and charged at acceptance of your contract. See the Rec Plus Participant Handbook for all procedures: www.minneapolisparks.org/recplushandbook.

Waitlists do not carry over from year to year. You must re-apply each season if you are on the waitlist. If you are no longer interested being on the waitlist, please withdraw your contract. If you are on the waitlist and a spot opens, you will be accepted and receive confirmation from Eleyo.
